We All Have Something To Give

The Amarillo Area Foundation has always led by example to serve as an agent for change. We all have something to give. Those who understand a volunteer’s generous gesture know that the individuals who step forward to share their passion, energy, and thought make life in the Texas Panhandle better for others. The Amarillo Area Foundation was founded by a remarkable group of far-sighted individuals who knew that Amarillo citizens working together engendered a strength that working separately could not.

Formed as only the second Community Foundation in Texas, the development of the Medical Center transformed healthcare and the future of healthcare in this region. With the bequest of Don D. Harrington that enabled the Foundation to begin making grants, this early healthcare-focused vision grew into what is today a $250 million organization, having the philanthropic impact of strength, breadth and ingenuity.

Financials

The Accounting Department is responsible for all financial processing that occurs at the Foundation, such as contributions, grant distributions, donor distributions, vendor payments and payroll. The accounting staff creates and implements processes to better control financial activities to ensure quality data and good audit outcomes. The goal is to accomplish all of this as timely and error free as possible, while limiting the overall administrative burden.

60 Years of Giving

In 1957, a group of forward-thinking Texas Panhandle community members came together to address the area’s healthcare needs. Their vision created a legacy that grew into the Amarillo Area Foundation. Join us as we celebrate 2017, the 60th anniversary year of the Amarillo Area Foundation.

THANK

you!
Thank you!

We Appreciate Your Support

We are blessed to live in a region of wise and generous donors. They give of themselves, but more importantly, they expect stewardship of their gifts and measurable results for individuals and our communities. If we give wisely of our resources, multiple talents, and work with our neighbors, our gifts will build a future of opportunities and hope.
