President’s Letter
As we reflect on 2022, in every way it was a tremendous year for the Amarillo Area Foundation. Despite a variety of challenges in the financial markets and political turmoil, we continued to work hard daily to improve quality of life for residents of the Texas Panhandle.
The Panhandle Gives was another successful campaign to raise funds for regional nonprofits. We established a goal of raising $5.2 Million during the week, and we raised $8.8 Million instead. All of these funds flowed directly to nonprofits in our area that support our residents and work hard to enrich our communities. Every year we are surprised and inspired by the generosity of our neighbors.
We also had a record year for distributions from the Foundation, with more than $19,141,000 distributed from our organization to non-profits in our region. Through the hard work of our partners and the generosity of our donors, we hope to continue to increase our distributions and provide even greater assistance to our communities.
From a personal perspective, we also saw tremendous growth and excellent work from the outstanding staff at the Foundation. During my prolonged absence, the staff did amazing work in continuing to serve our region with exceptional service and with tremendous heart. I appreciate you all!
As we move into 2023 with optimism, we continue to strive to uphold our values of Integrity, Respect, Collaboration, and Innovation. With your assistance, we can continue to make our region a better place for. All our residents.
